Root Gallery, established in 2018 by Yvonne de Jong, has evolved into a dynamic and innovative art space known for fostering collaboration, trust, and mutual support among its team and artists. Our gallery represents a new generation of contemporary artists working in various disciplines, each with a distinct and unique artistic signature.
Our artists are recognized for their hybrid practices, with each artwork bearing a strong, recognizable signature. Formerly known for hosting impressive large-scale exhibitions, we have recently moved to a historic 1900s dike-building, renovated into our new, sustainable gallery space. The renovation retains the building's old aesthetics, blending history with contemporary design, although the renovation is not yet fully completed.
At the core of their practice is in-depth research into material qualities, color, composition, and concept, ensuring each piece is both innovative and deeply considered.
