Root Gallery, established in 2018 by Yvonne de Jong, has evolved into a dynamic and innovative art space known for fostering collaboration, trust, and mutual support among its team and artists. Our gallery represents a new generation of contemporary artists working in various disciplines, each with a distinct and unique artistic signature.

Our artists are known for their hybrid practices, exploring new pathways and pushing artistic boundaries. Formerly known for hosting impressive large-scale exhibitions, we recently relocated to a historic 1900s dike-building. This newly renovated, sustainable gallery space seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary art, reflecting our commitment to both heritage and innovation. At the core of their practice is in-depth research into material qualities, color, composition, and concept, ensuring each piece is both innovative and deeply considered.

Root Gallery proudly presents the works of emerging and renowned artists such as Donald Schenkel, Vera Klaus, Sophie de Vos, Quinda Verheul, Saïd Kinos, Lisette Schumacher, Freerk Wilbers, Jochem Esser and Karen van de Vliet. Explore their artworks not only in our gallery but also on our website, GalleryViewer, at prominent art fairs, and across our social media platforms. The artwork displayed represents a distinctive fusion of contemporary styles, ranging from abstract compositions to intricate installations, each reflecting the gallery's unique artistic signature. Each piece resonates with a unique artistic signature and a profound exploration of material, color, and concept.

We facilitate meaningful connections between artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts through vibrant events such as dinners, artist talks, and festive openings. In doing so, the gallery continues to grow. 

Root Gallery complies with the Gallery Fair Practice Code of the Dutch Gallery Association

With transparency, trust and collaboration as core values it is only fitting that Root Gallery endorses the Fair Practice Code. There is a direct connection between the gallery, the artist and collectors. Decisions that affect the artist’s practices are always consulted with them. By facilitating continuous communication with the artists, partners and our clientele we have been able to build strong relationships and collaborations. Our website, Gallery Viewer and social media channels are online tools, offering insights into the behind the scenes of the gallery, programming, elaborate information about the available artworks, as well as insights into the artist’s developments.
