Mirror and concrete
Flood V, a wall sculpture by Quinda Verheul, is part of her Flood series. Crafted from a silver-toned mirror and rounded forms of concrete on both sides, the work reflects Verheul’s ongoing research into landscapes shaped by human impact.
This piece explores the industrial harvesting of river sand and the fragile balance of natural ecosystems. It invites viewers to reflect - both literally and metaphorically - on the consequences of reshaping nature. The sculpture’s mirrored surface subtly shifts with the environment, while its concrete contours recall altered riverbanks and geological memory.
